Casco Viejo For Sale
Casco Antiguo For Rent
Historic Real Estate in Panama´s

For such a small country, Panama has been known internationally by legends such as Roberto Duran (boxing), Lafitte Pincay (horse riding), Mariano Rivera (Yankees) and more recently Irving Saladino who won the first gold medal at an Olimpic Game for the country ever (even if all his trainning and expenses where really paid by the Brazilian government...).  Their common denominators have not only been the country where they where born in (Panama) but the fact that most of them come from very humble origins.

Roberto Duran, for example, lived in El Chorrillo, and walked the streets of Casco Viejo as a young man training and having fun. Yesterday, as I walked my Chispa around Las Bovedas, I saw a bunch of kids doing what they do best: have fun with not much.  Some where given surf boards (Samantha, our surf champion got some donated boards from them) and where just coming out of the water to join another group of skaters that where watching another group play street beisball (the one you play with a wood stick ... any stick really, and your ball is made of maskingtape).  Despite what outside observers would qualify as poor equipment, these guys where at the top of their game, screaming, laughing, running and having fun. I think they didn´t have much patience to figure out regular beisball with the three bases, so they where playing just with two... and I´ll tell you, the game got far more exciting!

It is here where our sports glories are born. In the meantime, I was just happy that they where having a good time and that Chispa got interested in surfing.... just like her father!
