Panama, Casco Antiguo
Casco Viejo, San Felipe

Yesterday was the inauguration of the Dance Festival Sobresaltos in Casco Viejo at Plaza Herrera. It was a very enthusiastic night: partly because of the novelty of vertical dancing on the fasade of buildings, but also because a small group of local kids from all neighborhoods (Chorrillo, Barraza, Santa Ana and San Felipe) where dancing as well for the first time in their lives on stage. It was moving to see their parents and friends enjoying the show, but above all it was fantastic to see this group of kids go through their dance with the seriousness and pride of real professionals. Bravo!

The other favorite moment was the aerial dance: literally crossing Plaza Herrera hanging from a long cable. The dancer stopped on top of the statue of "General Herrera" and started descending while doing pirouettes over him. Finally got to the horse and sat with the General overlooking the cheering crowd. Someone screammed: " Besalo!" (kiss him!!!!!)  jijiji... someone else said "Viva el General Herrera!".  Everyone was laughing.

After the show, we went to La Casona de Brujas to see the art show called "Greyslkull, Memoires of a Castle". A very interesting and refreshing installation I hope everyone that visits the Casco this month stops by and see.

Here are some shots...
