I take my phone everywhere, not so much because I´m obsessed with phone calls but because it has a camera and I´ve been able to get the best neighborhood happenings on it. When I finally download the photos, it is always a collage of crazy stuff. Today (tonight) I´m doing a summery of last week in Casco Viejo:

Giselle ballet at the National Theatre:  fantastic!  it was a very well done production, made me nostalgic of my "good old days"...Got a well deserved standing ovation. The theatre was full on all three nights!

Daytime: just walking by, a Panamanian classic: caramelized apples. Hummmm... a treat from my childhood...





More nightlife: partying in Casco Viejo! some neighbors decided to have this party at Las Bovedas once a month. It was quite nice to see everyone:







Walking back home, we passed by Plaza Bolivar and we discovered a new tourism strategy: night time tourism guides. No, it is not what you are thinking. These nice girls are certified, local tourism guides that will show you where restaurants are and give you a small tour. Nothing like knowing the place by the hand of a local!





And finally... November is coming. This is Panama´s patriot month, for which schools and institutions prepare for an entire year. The parade with the bands is the main attraction, and practice for this special performance gets really strict as the time comes closer:
