The online page of Condé Nast Traveler selected Panama for its "Top 20" destinations for 2009. Ranking at #12, Panama is among countries such as Scotland, Holland, France and England (curious that France and England got a tie at #3!). Conde Nast is published by the same editorial group that issues Vanity Fair and Vogue, and is one of the most recognized tourism magazines in the world.  Recently, according to a note at today´s La Prensa newspaper, the US magazine Budget Travel also featured Panama among its best 10 destinations.   

According to Conde Nast Traveler: "Panama is up-and-coming like never before, quickly becoming the destination of Central America. And there's little wonder: Panama's beautiful Caribbean coastline remains undiscovered in many parts, fiercely protected by the Kuna tribe who shun modernisation, while Panama City is a destination in its own right with skyscrapers juxtaposed with the old town of Casco Viejo".
