Last Saturday House Hunters International aired an episode called "Two Best Friends Invest in Panama" featuring Casco Viejo... and me! (alias Patrizia Pinzon, not Patrizia Penzon as it was spelled in the website. The thing with Spanish is that the vocal "i" sounds like "e" in English)  along with Eric and Vladimir who are childhood friends that decided to invest here and now are an active part of Casco Antiguo´s community. 

It was my first experience on a TV Show, with all my years as a ballet dancer and on stage, I have to say this was quite different! but a lot of fun.  And doing the episode with Eric and Vladimir made it so much easier and funnier.  Now, the funniest of it all have been the emails we´ve gotten from fans of the show asking about an incredibly wide range of things going from the cat at the Art Deco unit to real estate questions not necessarily related to Casco Viejo but of Panama in general.

I´m sad to report, though, that the cat at Art Deco which was a very, very, extremely old cat and died of natural causes a month or so after the show was filmed. Melanie, the owner, is an active member of an animal care ngo in Panama called Spay Panama that provides with medical attention and free nutering services to the community.

The good thing is that Eric´s bar is up and running. Not at the original site he picked (the roof fell off... jejeje) but at Plaza Herrera which is a far better location.  He has definately become a full time resident in Casco and we are looking forward to La Merced being delivered any time soon.

Vladimir is in New York running his business, but in constant communication. Hope he comes down for Jazz Fest 2010 !
