 Aprojusan (Asociación Pro Juventud de San Felipe) has new headquarters!!!!. Run by dentist María Jaen and her sister Gio, this program offers not only an afterschool reinforcement and follow up with teachers at children´s schools, but also art workshops, lunch, medical checkups and most importantly, the love and care most of these kids don´t get at home and therefore anxiously look for it in the streets, where it is fertile soil for gangs.

This year, they have a space donated by Conservatorio S.A. for two years and fixed by the US Marines and many other helping hands such as OCA at the Santa Familia complex in Calle 4ta and A Avenue where they can expand their capacity to over 60 children. Monday was their first day at their new classrooms, and the word starting spreading fast among the kids who where used to going to the old site. With the school year starting next week, Aprojusan´s roll is crucial to avoid drop outs. As Maria Jaen proudly remarks: "our goal is to get everyone to go to a vocacional school. To finish their Elementary School and Pre High School.  Last year, all of our students passed their grade. That, for us, is something really big."
