“It will be possible to someday have a museum of molas in Panama and within him a factory of molas”.
That is the yearning that shelters the Spanish collector of molas José Félix Llopis.
Reason that expressed the 10 of December, standing up in the podium, in front of the public who listened to him kind in the audience of The Interoceanic Museum of Panama Canal.
The first time that he saw a mola, says that was in a studio of Pablo Picasso. He ensures that the first mola that bought, by an exaggerated price in the islands of San Blas, that mola with two fishes have an especial space in the exhibition.
Between his collections, that is compiling of approximately 600 molas you can appreciate different themes like: daily life, abstract, mythological, etc.
"I have always considered that the molas are pictures are true works of art, although it tends to refer to minor works."
