Like a soldier holding the fort under "extreme weather conditions" (meaning the day was hot as hell) Mery held her head high and smiling during the last Casco Viejo Flea Market, all for a good cause: to provide information to the local population about Casa Patterson, a private low housing project designed for people from the "barrio" to be able to own an apartment and not rent anymore.  For us, this is important on multiple levels which allows the neighborhood to keep it´s authenticity.

By the way, the flea market keeps growing. It had interesting stands, from antiques to fusion ethnic clothing. Traditional handcrafts and indian dresses, of course, but also good quality stuff. The Oficina del Casco Antiguo organized small folkcloric events, and I have to say that under the heat the most beloved post was the "raspao guy"....

Dances            Raspao!!!!!
