Investing in Real Estate in Panama. I often comment on my clients that Casco Antiguo is like Woody Allen: either you hate it or you love it, there is no "in between". It is definatly not for everyone. For the right person, it is very easy to fall in love with it on their first visit. They get the same feeling as a kid walking into a store with tons of candy, wide smile on their faces, dreams about their restored home. But... hey! wake up! it takes some serious work and personal honesty to go further this point and succeed.

One of the things I enjoy the most of living here is the fact that "going out" is as easy as walking to my favorite restaurant or bar. Somehow I realized there is no guide with all the contacts of Restaurants, Bars and other businesses in the Casco, so here it goes!

November has arrived, Panama´s holiday month. A good time to relax and meditate about the beginnings of our country and what makes it and us so special. The answer might be really simple, but powerful...

Panama, Casco Antiguo Casco Viejo, San Felipe
Up until now, the two only options to stay in Casco Antiguo where: a) backpacking b) staying in a private apartment. Now you can have your own mansion! A true tropical oasis for those looking for a sophisticated, intimate experience. The Canal House has opened it´s doors! Go check it out at: http://www.canalhousepanama.com If you are planning to visit Panama soon (for work or not) this place is a must. It`s the type of place where, if you are comming for business and need to entertain people, they can arrange a private chef to organize your cocktail. And if you are traveling for pleasure, this is the perfect place to impress your "better half"! Check out some great reviews at: http://www.interpanama.com/en/news/103/

Finally, Hotel Central at the heart of Casco Antiguo has started restoration. The site looks like a war zone right now, but just like plastic surgery, it always looks bad before looking really good. Hotels are the key to Casco Antiguo. They create a center of gravity that the neighborhood needs in order to develop commercial life and reinforce value. Now imagine this: not only one but four sites are about to develop within the next 5 years. Can´t think of a better place or time to invest or live in the Casco!

The bollo man, the yogurt girl, the chicheme guy and the grilled chicken family... they are all examples of local Casco Viejo neighbors that have created sucessful businesses. How can we help spread that "inner fire" around? keep reading... and join the cause!

For such a small country, Panama is suddenly surrounded by heavy players. On one hand, the Panama Canal expansion project will cost over $5 billion dollars, and on the other hand, big guys such as Hewlett - Packard, Caterpillar, the Swiss Sanofi- Aventis, Procter & Gamble and Sinope from China have either expressed their interest of moving headquarters here or are actually doing so. But where does Casco Viejo fit in all this?
