Last night I was sitting in a beautifully restored 300 year old church listening to sacred and Christmas music and I thought to myself: I am so lucky. Only a handful of places around the world can provide you with such a wonderful experience. See some pictures of San Felipe Neri, Casco Antiguo´s oldest church.

Panama got a 40 Million Dollar financing to clean Panama´s bay. A "simple" task with endless positive effects. What does this mean for Panama City? for Casco Viejo?

Panama, Community: In need of a haircut? Panama now has a wide range of options... but very few (probably none!) like V.I.P in Avenida A and Calle 5ta. A unique barbershop run by one of Casco´s gang (known as Calle 4ta)

Incredible news: not only Panama made it to the Grammy´s Awards (with Rabanes) but now we are making it to Sundance Film Festival. "The Wind and the Water (Burwa Dii Ebo)" has been accepted to compete, along with another 63 films. The festival will inaugurate with the film "In Bruges" starring one of my favorite actors Ralph Fiennes and Colin Farrell, directed by Martin McDonagh. Learn more! and congratulations to the movie crew!

Panama Art. The Dance Festival finally inaugurates featuring seasoned troupes from France, Colombia .... and Casco Viejo! Greyskull Castle opens it´s doors to the secret life of pandilleros, or maybe giving us a mirror where to recognize our own culture.

Green Panama: Here is an exciting project on the move: transforming Casco Antiguo into an organic garden. Our friend and organic specialist Spencer is already working on it, and I have to say it´s fascinating.

Panama Dance Fest. Don´t miss it... Plaza Herrera, 7:30 p.m. Saw the troupe practicing yesterday, I would say is not for the faint of heart! No se lo pierdan, Plaza Herrera, 7:30 p.m. Vi a los bailarines practicando ayer, diría que no es apto para cardiacos!

Panama Art. Known as La Reformada back in 1917 - 21, this building was the masterpiece of Arquitect Leonardo Villanueva Meyer. The first "skycraper" of Panama (5 floors!) When the area decayed, it became the home of a dangerous gang. Today, with the area clear and hopefully a renovation plan coming up, La Casona proposes an interesting art show about the testimonials left on the walls by the gang on how their lives and hopes where. Don´t miss it!
