Speaking of surf... (at my blog early this morning), I just got this video article that was posted at Surfing Magazine about surf in Panama (check out sites at Bocas del Toro):
People often wonders how is everyday life in Casco Viejo. This is it. And we love it.

What a weekend! Panama´s Presidential Election, How does it work? who won? what to expect?

Many look around and spend hours searching the web for this information. While most of it is in my own website (and you can see photos, etc) I see how having a chart can be really useful.
It was about time! residents and business owners of Casco Antiguo are coming together to help Casco Antiguo develop the best way possible. AVACA for its name in Spanish, is open to everyone: residents, owners, business owners and Casco Antiguo fans.
Developing in Casco Viejo is both a science and an art. Experience and common sense have to blend with the historic restrictions and be sensitive to the environment. It is a complex process that we only recommend to people who have the correct skills and team behind them, and that will be on the ground full time for at least three years. While most of our clients might feel this is too much, every year I see examples of what can happen if something goes wrong. Yesterday, we witnessed a very sad example of lack of planning and the most basic common sense, which led to the partial destruction of one of Casco Antiguo´s most valuable icons.

Recently I published a list of all the properties For Rent in Casco Viejo. Now, here is my updated list with what is For Sale in Casco Antiguo right now. See how much the fully restored condos in Casco Viejo are going for and also some of the best located unrestored buildings. The map marks also where the main active hotel projects are located: either existing or under construction.
"Raindrops are falling on my head".... but it doesn´t stop the carnival! Panama is entering into the rainny season, hated by many but highly appreciated by all nature lovers. Check out the event calendar for the month: art, music, theatre and ecological trips at Casco Antiguo´s nearby jungles and beyond!

Very good "baby blue salad" (salad with pears, blue cheese, raisins and nuts) and friendly ambiance. A place where you can choose to "grab n´run" or to stay and relax.

After all these ultra serious postings about the economy, Panama´s and Casco Viejo´s most recent mega projects, it is time for some silly pictures....

Panama mega investments are going forward full steam ahead. With the Presidential elections coming up next week, the current President Martin Torrijos Espino is eager to cut the ribbons and inaugurate it. Check out this recent aerial photo showing the big park extending through the coast.

The great thing about Casco is that almost always there is something going on. April 25th the National Theatre will host a concert from Latin American authors. See the info here...
Low tide in Casco Viejo uncovers secret spots all over. Only available for limited time, as they hide again once the tide goes up.
